African Vaccination Week promotes immunization awareness to safeguard public health, aims to increase vaccination coverage in underserved populations, advocates for equitable vaccine access through policies, and emphasizes vaccination as a cost-effective public health intervention.

  • Measles Elimination: Countries like Ethiopia and Ghana have implemented successful measles vaccination campaigns, reducing the burden of this highly contagious disease.
  • Meningitis A Vaccination: The MenAfriVac vaccine campaign in the “meningitis belt” of sub-Saharan Africa has dramatically reduced meningitis A cases.
  • Community Health Workers: Training and deploying community health workers have improved vaccine coverage in rural area
